Psychology is knowledge and methods about the human mind, behavior, and relationships. Sometimes, psychology can be superficial. It is often forgotten that the word ‘psychology’ originally meant ‘the study of the soul or essence’. This means discovering what we are when freed from fixed ideas, traumas, and habits. One could say it is the inner source of life. The focus is not on thinking about the source, but rather on experiencing it directly.
The source unfolds through the body, senses, heart, and awareness. Fixed ideas and patterns will hinder us from feeling it directly, as there isn’t enough space to experience it. Awareness, used in a specific way, creates a concrete opportunity to release from what is locked and blocking us spontaneously. When we let go and feel, it often opens deeper, unfolding qualities such as ease, connectedness, strength, joy, creativity, love, and meaning.
I use psychological methods that direct curiosity and awareness toward your experience, with elements from Somatic Experiencing, NARM, EFT, mindfulness, and humanistic psychology. I use elements from IFS and The Wholeness Work.
I am inspired by understandings from Vækstcenter pedagogy, the Diamond Approach, and the Enneagram, which draw on spiritual traditions like Buddhism and Advaita Vedanta and offer tools for exploring what life is. I have deep gratitude for these inspirations, but I do not incorporate them into our conversations, as the focus in our sessions is your life.
